Uber is halting its lowest-cost ride-sharing service, UberPop, in France after widespread and sometimes violent protests by registered taxi drivers over the service. Friday's decision to suspend UberPop comes just days after two senior European managers for the company were reportedly arrested during an investigation into "illicit activity" linked to UberPop, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.
